I'm a college student and my dorm next fall semester is going to be pretty small. I would love to have a vacuum and thought of a stick vac. I'm not too familiar though with the stick vacuum products. My dorm room is carpet but I want to get one that will also be good with hardwood floors. Lastly like I said I am a college student so I need to get the best bang for my buck. Feel free to leave reviews of the product.

I’ve had several all the way from the ones that do not use electric to my shark and oreck stick types. It all depends on if your going to use it once in a blue moon (new boyfriend, girlfriend, study group that sits on floor, or OH my gosh the dreaded visit from Parents) yes I have a daughter in college. If you use it pretty much once a day the ones that Wal Mart put on sale for back to school that are in neat colors work fine. If you want a more sophisticated one I love my shark flip. You vacumn with one side and then you flip a switch and you can mop the floor. I’ve also tried the one from Oreck and it worked fine too. They work with steam and it keeps the allergies down and you feel like the floor is clean not just mopped over with dirty water. Good Luck in school. Another MOM
The best stick vac I’ve used is the Electrolux ErgoRapido. It handles carpet and bare floor and the vacuum decouples from the stick to become a hand vac if so needed. It’s easy to empty and maintain too.
