get a deep bowl and fill it with HOT SOAPY water, run the brush through your cats fur then swish the fleas off in the water, the fleas will drown, if your quick the fleas won't jump away, they'll be tangled in the fur that you also will get in the brush. I suggest you also buy a shampoo that kills fleas and ticks, this will get rid of eggs and any remaining fleas.

I have sand for my cichlid aquarium i got so mad when that happened! but from what your say either you dont have a strong gravel filter or you dont have suction. i know this sound wrong but suck at the end of the tube XD and get water at the end then hold it down at the bucket then get air in the tube OOO WAIT take of the gravel part you just want the tube k? get air in the tube put it about a inch from sand then let go of the end then you will get suction suction. or netting it is getting a brine shrimp net and scoop up the sand with the 'feces or food and just start gentle shaking it in side the aquarium for only the sand falls but this is only good if you have a small tank not a 55 gallon like i have unless you got A LOT of time on your hands lol. but i bought a crayfish…. BEST dollar investment in cleaning the tank but provide some caves for it as it will hide ( or well mine does my fish are aggresive natured ) but it will eat injured fish or dead fish, plants, feces, food EVERY thing so consider that before you buy one.
