How can i protect my floor from the vacuum wheels?

We have just had a thermo hardwood floor put down and we even bought a new vacuum with a hardwood floor setting...

A few strokes forward and backward and it scratches my new frickin floor!

Is there a product to protect my floor from vacuum wheels?

I tried looking but i couldn't find anything. I thought maaybe selotape but that isn't going to last very long ^^
